The Partido Republika Nacional Timor Leste PARENTIL is a political party from East Timor . She is considered conservative. The current chairman is Flaviano Pereira Lopes (2015).

history

The party was founded in February 2001 with Flaviano Pereira Lopes as president. The then mainly young members wanted to strike a balance with the generation of older national leaders. At that time, PARENTIL and Partido Nasionalista Timorense (PNT) were the only ones to reject the pact of national unity . 14 parties signed this Pact of Tolerance on July 8, 2001 at the endeavors of the Catholic Church.

In the elections for the constituent assembly in 2001 , in which PARENTIL ran with 52 list candidates, it received only 0.54% with 1970 votes and thus no seat in the assembly with 88 members. In the 2007 parliamentary elections , PARENTIL did not run at all.

Bloco proclamador

In the parliamentary elections in 2012 , PARENTIL and the Partido Milénio Democrático (PMD) entered a joint electoral list called Bloco Proclamador ( Block of Heralds , tetum Bloku Proklamador ). The Bloco Proclamador failed with only 3,125 votes (0.66%) at the three percent hurdle. The best result he achieved in the then Aileu district with 2.43% of the vote.

As of July 30, 2015, PARENTIL was a member of the Bloku Unidade Popular (BUP) party alliance . It is an electoral alliance of several parties that failed in the 2012 parliamentary elections because of the three percent hurdle. At the end of April 2017, however, PARENTIL left the alliance due to differences of opinion and did not run for the parliamentary elections in the same year .
