Zonza

Zonza is a municipality in the Bavella massif on the French Mediterranean island of Corsica . It belongs to the Corse-du-Sud department , the Sartène arrondissement and the Bavella canton . The residents call themselves Zonzais .

Geography and infrastructure

The Route nationale 852 ended in Zonza at the Route forestière 4 . The route forestière 11 ended in Zonza from 1893. The Routes forestières, previously national roads, were graduated in 1973. Today the village is accessed by departmental roads. The 1218 m high Col de Bavella mountain pass connects Zonza with Sari-Solenzara . The Route nationale 198 touches the district of La Croix du Sud, which lies directly on the Ligurian Sea , and connects it with Lecci in the southwest and Conca in the north. The neighboring municipalities are Conca in the north, Lecci and San-Gavino-di-Carbini in the south and Sorbollano and Quenza in the west. The main settlement is located at 762 meters above sea level. Zonza also includes Sante Lucie de Porto Vecchio with Piranellu. The Rizzanese has its source in Zonza and flows to Zoza .
