Saint-François Monastery
Above the village lies the Franciscan monastery of Saint-François, which was founded in 1492 by Count Rinuccio della Rocca, an important feudal lord of the 15th century. In the church once the two donated by the founder were altarpiece , which can be seen in the town hall of the place today. A third panel depicting the Coronation of the Virgin was stolen in 1928. The images from the 16th century show the crucifixion and the Virgin with the child, which are ascribed to the little-known " Master of Castelsardo " or his school. The painter who works in Sardinia probably comes from Catalonia or Valencia . Spanish influences can be seen in both paintings. However, the landscape, architecture and some realistic details also bear witness to Flemish influence. The panel paintings are stylistically at the beginning of the Renaissance .
Parish church
In the parish church there is a bas-relief made of white marble on a pillar, which was also donated by Rinuccio della Rocca. The graceful virgin with the child on her lap is reminiscent of Florentine sculptures of the 15th century. Behind the church is a fortified house with a pitch core and loopholes , in which the residents of the village barricaded themselves in case of danger.
Bronze Age monuments
This Castellu di Cucuruzzu complex, which was only discovered in aerial photographs in 1959, is located on the approximately 900 m high granite plateau Pianu di Levie, from which one can overlook the entire Rizzanese basin. Nearby is Capula. Both are plants of the Torre culture .
Orbiculite
In a quarry south of Sainte-Lucie-de-Tallano, the geological rarity of the spherical diorite or orbiculite (French: diorite orbiculaire ) made of concentric spherical shells occurs. In addition to a few other occurrences around Ajaccio , spherical diorite is also known from Finland , Sweden and Lower Austria .
