Conca is a French commune in the Corse-du-Sud on the island of Corsica . It belongs to the arrondissement of Sartène and the canton of Bavella .

geography

Conca is the easternmost municipality in the Corse-du-Sud department. It is located around 20 kilometers north of Porto-Vecchio and five kilometers from the east coast of Corsica at the foothills of the mountains. The municipality extends from the coast to the mountains. The western part of the municipality is part of the Corsica Regional Nature Park . Neighboring communities are Sari-Solenzara in the north, Zonza in the south and west, and Quenza in the northwest. The municipality is drained by the small coastal rivers Tarcu and Conca , the river U Cavu runs along the southern municipal boundary .

View from the GR 20 to Conca

Conca is known as the southern end point of the GR 20 long-distance hiking trail , which runs through the Corsican mountains in a north-south direction. Accordingly, there is also accommodation in town and a connection to local public transport.
