The University of Cagliari (Italian: Università degli Studi di Cagliari ) is a university in Cagliari . It is one of the older universities in Italy . It was founded in 1620 and is also known under its Latin name Universitas Studiorum Caralitana . The rector is Maria Del Zompo , who took office on April 2, 2015 as the first woman in this position.

structure

The university is divided into 6 faculties and 17 departments:

  1. Engineering and architecture
  2. Biology and pharmacy
  3. Medicine and surgery
  4. Human / human sciences
  5. Economics, law and political science
  6. Natural sciences

As of 2017, 31,102 students were studying at the university. A little over 1,000 people work as teaching staff and a little over 1,000 people are technical and administrative staff. Around 200 guest professors join the teaching staff every year.

radio

The "Unica Radio" project was launched on October 8, 2007 within the university, ie a university radio operated by students from the RadUni association and also in DAB + .
