The University of Cassino ( Italian : Università degli studi di Cassino ; Latin : Universitas Studiorum Casinas , since 2011 Università degli Studi di Cassino e del Lazio Meridionale ) is a state university in the Italian town of Cassino below Montecassino in Latium , which was founded in 1979.
Since 2010 - after the reform of the higher education system in Italy - the previous five faculties ( Economia , Giurisprudenza , Ingegneria , Lettere e Filosofia and Scienze Motorie ) have been transformed into the following departments:
- economic and legal
- Construction and mechanical engineering
- Electrical and Computer Engineering
- Humanities
- Human, social and health sciences
The training takes place in the first degree, in master’s courses (master’s degree), with a single-cycle degree, as well as in doctoral courses. Some facilities and institutes are outsourced to Atina , Frosinone , Sora and Terracina . Ciro Attaianese was the rector of the university until October 2015. His successor for the six-year term from November 2015 to October 2021 is the electronics technician Giovanni Betta .
The university is a member of the University Consortium for Italian Philology, Consorzio ICoN .
