The University "Mediterranea" Reggio Calabria ( Italian : Università degli studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria ) short UNIRC - is a state university in the city of Reggio Calabria ( Calabria ) with around 10,000 students and almost 900 academic staff.
history
The University of Reggio Calabria was founded on June 17, 1968 as Libero Istituto Universitario di Architettura with 81 architecture students at the time and has been a recognized university since 1982 . In 1970 , the lion's head from an ancient coin was chosen as the symbol for the University of Reggio Calabria.
