The Università degli Studi del Sannio di Benevento , or UNISANNIO for short , is a state university with its headquarters in Benevento and a branch in Ariano Irpino in the Italian region of Campania .
The University of Sannio, founded in 1998, has been part of the University of Salerno since 1990 . It is organized in four faculties with almost 6000 students and offers courses in the areas of law, statistics, environment, geology and biology, biotechnology, civil engineering, computer technology, energy technology, electrical engineering, economics and business organization.
