The Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi (translated "Luigi Bocconi University of Economics") is a private business university founded in 1902 in Milan , Italy. It offers English and Italian language courses in economics and law . A ranking by the Financial Times in 2013 ranked it one of the ten best business schools in Europe. The faculties of Economics ( Economics ), Finance ( Public Finance ) and Accounting ( Accounting ) are also ranked among the 25 best in the world. The university is a member of the Association of European Business Schools ( CEMS ).
The SDA Bocconi as a convenience business school offers MBA , Executive MBA and PhD in programs. SDA Bocconi is one of the top 20 MBA business schools worldwide and one of the ten best MBA business schools in Europe (2013).
The university is internationally known as one of the most important research locations for economics , econometrics , finance and accounting .
history
The Luigi Bocconi University of Economics and Business was founded as a foundation by Ferdinando Bocconi , a wealthy Milanese merchant who wanted to use the university to commemorate his son Luigi Bocconi, who died on March 1, 1896 in the Battle of Adwa . The Milan University of Economics was the first Italian university to offer a degree in economics .
