Positions

Corneo, who classifies himself as a neo- classic, also deals with economic systems that are alternative to capitalism. According to Corneo, this must meet two conditions, “sufficient economic cooperation ” and “efficient resource allocation ”. Most of the alternatives are too idealistic and cannot meet these criteria. Capitalism in itself is "inefficient, unjust and alienating".

Corneo therefore advocates an evolutionary approach to a stock market socialism in which the actual principle of the market economy would be preserved, but private ownership of the means of production would be severely curtailed. Entrepreneurial action is indispensable, but the shareholder is the entire community . Corneo sees the danger of plutocracy in the ruling system .
