Luca De Meo (born June 13, 1967 in Milan ) is an Italian manager. Luca de Meo has been the CEO of Renault since 2020 .

Life

Luca De Meo holds a degree in business administration from Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi in Milan. His doctoral thesis dealt with business ethics and was one of the first dissertations in this area in Italy . In 2017 he was elected Bocconi graduate of the year for the embodiment of the university values ​​of professionalism, initiative, integrity, a sense of responsibility and openness to pluralism.

De Meo began his career at Renault before moving to Toyota Europe and then to the Fiat group . There he headed the Lancia, Fiat and Alfa Romeo divisions, was CEO of Abarth and head of marketing for the entire group. In 2009, De Meo moved to the Volkswagen Group , where he initially held the position of Marketing Director for the Volkswagen brand and the Volkswagen Group, followed by Member of the Board of Management for Marketing and Sales at Audi AG . From November 2015 he was CEO of Seat . He has been CEO of Renault since July 1st, 2020 .

He speaks Italian, English, French, German and Spanish and has taught as a teaching fellow at the SDA Bocconi Management School.

Awards

The Italian Republic honored Luca De Meo with the Order of Merit " Commendatore ". The Harvard University dedicated to him in 2013 a case study for his work as head of marketing in the Volkswagen Group.
