Econometric Society

The Econometric Society (German Econometric Society ) is an international society dedicated to the advancement of theoretical economics in its relationship to statistics and mathematics . In addition to the journals Econometrica , Quantitative Economics and Theoretical Economics, she also publishes a series of monographs (since 1983) and organizes scientific conferences.

The company was founded in 1930 on the initiative of Irving Fisher and Ragnar Frisch . The first meeting took place on December 29, 1930 in Cleveland , Ohio, the first scientific meetings in September 1931 at the University of Lausanne and in December 1931 in Washington, DC . Econometrica has been published since 1933 . The Society has been awarding the Frisch Medal every two years since 1978 for extraordinary contributions to econometrics published in this journal .
