Luigi L. Pasinetti

Luigi Lodovico Pasinetti (born September 12, 1930 in Zanica , Bergamo ) is an Italian economist who is known for his contributions to capital theory and growth theory .

Pasinetti graduated from the Catholic University of Milan in 1954 and then studied at Harvard University and in England at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge. After receiving his doctorate in Cambridge in 1962, he taught economic theory. From 1977 he held a chair in econometrics at the Catholic University of Milan. He was the first President of the European Society for the History of Economic Thought (ESHET), founded in 1995 .
