Roy F. Harrod

Sir Henry Roy Forbes Harrod (born February 13, 1900 in Norfolk , † March 8, 1978 ibid) was an English economist .

Live and act

At the same time, but independently of Evsey D. Domar , Roy Harrod developed an economic model for the theory of growth . This is therefore called the Harrod-Domar model . Harrod graduated from New College , Oxford . He then spent some time at King's College , Cambridge , where he met John Maynard Keynes . However, he returned to Oxford and became director of a church college . Harrod and Keynes had been close friends since Cambridge, and Harrods became Keynes' official biographer. Assar Lindbeck , the former chairman of the Nobel Economy Prize Committee, once said that Roy Harrod would have received the Nobel Prize in Economy if he had lived longer.
