The Bernhard Harms Prize is a prize donated and awarded by the Institute for the World Economy (IfW Kiel). It is endowed with € 25,000 and is awarded in memory of the founder of the institute, Bernhard Harms . The prize is intended to honor outstanding researchers in the field of global economic research as well as people in business practice who promote global economic relations with their contributions.

history

The Bernhard Harms Prize was first awarded on the 50th anniversary of the institute in 1964. Since then, the prize has been awarded at a ceremony every two years. The laudation of the award ceremony, the so-called Bernhard Harms lecture , is published in the Review of World Economics (formerly World Economic Archive ).
