Erik Lundberg
Erik Filip Lundberg (born August 13, 1907 in Stockholm , † September 14, 1987 ) was a Swedish economist and economist . He wrote important works in business cycle theory .
Life
Lundberg studied with Gustav Cassel and belonged to the so-called Stockholm School . From 1937 he worked for the economic institute subordinated to the Swedish Ministry of Finance , which he also headed from 1944. During this time he was one of the closest confidants of the Finance Minister Ernst Wigforss and together with him a political opponent of Gunnar Myrdal , who was Sweden's Minister of Economic Affairs from 1945.
In 1962 he joined the Mont Pelerin Society founded by Friedrich Hayek . He later became President of the Swedish Reichsbank and chairman of the award committee for the Nobel Prize in Economics, which was donated by the Reichsbank . He was also President of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences from 1973 to 1976 and a member a. a. the British Academy (since 1971) and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (since 1973).
Lundberg Lag
The economic model named after him describes the delayed reaction (time-lag) of consumer goods production to a change in consumer spending. These assumptions are based on the assumption that the entrepreneurs align the production volume for the current period with the sales figures for the previous period.
