The Review of World Economics (RWE) is an economic journal with a focus on foreign trade . RWE is published quarterly by Springer-Verlag on behalf of the Institute for the World Economy (IfW) in Kiel . Until 2003, the RWE was published under the title World Economic Archive .

history

The World Economic Archive was first published in 1913. It is the first trade journal to specialize in foreign trade. After Springer-Verlag took over the publication of the magazine in 1970, the magazine was initially published with two issues per volume, but this increased to a regular circulation of four issues per volume by 1984.

In 2003 the title was changed to Review of World Economics.

Content

The Review of World Economics focuses on foreign trade , especially in empirical studies on foreign trade topics. Such topics include trade and trade policy , the international mobility of production factors and international business administration, international finance, currency systems and exchange rates, monetary and fiscal policy in open economies, economic development, technological change and growth.

In a by Kalaitzidakis et al. (2003) conducted a study on the quality of economic publications, the Review of World Economics (or the World Economics Archive ) reached rank 80 out of 159 evaluated publications, but fell in a later study by Kalaitzidakis et al. (2011) ranked 104th out of 209 publications. In the Economics publication ranking of the Tinbergen Institute , the Review of World Economics is listed in category B (“good scientific journals for all research fields of the Tinbergen Institute”).
