Holger Görg

Holger Görg (* 1970 ) is a German economist . He holds the chair for foreign trade at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and program coordinator for “International Economics and International Economic Policy” and head of the research group “Global Division of Labor” at the Institute for World Economics (IfW) . Holger Görg is one of the leading, best-known and most widely published international economists.

life and work

Holger Görg studied from 1990 to 1994 at the University of Applied Sciences in Worms , where he received his first academic degree. He then continued his studies at University College Galway and received the postgraduate degree Master of Letters (M.Litt) from the University of Dublin in 1996 . He received his PhD from the University of Dublin and in 1999 received a Ph.D. in Economics. His research focuses on international economics, globalization , multinational corporations , outsourcing and microeconomics . While most globalization researchers work with macro data , his research, analyzes and recommendations for action are increasingly based on micro-based analyzes and micro data . Due to the realism of microdata, better recommendations for action can be derived for politics. It is in the top 5 percent of the RePEc author rankings . Holger Görg is considered to be one of the best publishing international economists.
