Serge-Christophe Kolm

Serge-Christophe Kolm (* 1932 ) is a French economist and econometrician who worked in social science institutes a. a. worked in the USA (professorships at Harvard University and Stanford University ) and in France, some in leading positions. His research and publications focus on theories of social justice and economic development. In econometrics, the Theil index is assigned to the class of Kolm indices , through which the concept of entropy was also used for quantitative statements about the uneven distribution of resources. Kolm holds a degree from the University of École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and a doctorate from the Université de Friborg.

Another subject of Kolm is Buddhism . In 1982, Le Bonheur Liberté, Bouddhisme profond et Modernité appeared . In Chapter 22 of the book Le bouddhisme et les “hommes économiques” he looks at the subject of “economy” from both a Buddhist and an economic perspective.
