John F. Muth
John Fraser Muth (born September 27, 1930 in Chicago , † October 23, 2005 in Key West ) was an American economist .
John F. Muth worked at the Carnegie Institute of Technology and Michigan State University . From 1969 to 1994 he was Professor of Production Management at Indiana University in Bloomington . Since 1961, Muth had been a decisive proponent of the theory of rational expectation , which was later further developed by Robert E. Lucas .
