Theoretical Economics is an open-access specialist journal in the field of economics . Theoretical Economics sees itself as a specialist journal for theoretical contributions to economics. Theoretical Economics was founded in 2006 by Martin J. Osborne and Ariel Rubinstein . The current editor is Martin J. Osborne. In July 2009 the Econometric Society took over the publication of the journal. This makes Theoretical Economics one of three journals of the Econometric Society alongside Econometrica and Quantitative Economics (also Open Access).
