The Köttelbach (also "Köttelsbach") is a 4 km long orographically right and northeastern tributary of the Dhünn .

geography

course

The Köttelbach rises in Leverkusen - Lützenkirchen near the sports field. It flows, partly also underground, in a south-westerly direction, its main flow direction, which it essentially maintains up to its mouth. On the outskirts he takes up the Holzer Bach . In Quettingen the stream flows through the Bürgerbusch forest . To the east of Jakob-Fröhlen-Strasse it is fed by the small Wiesenbach and shortly afterwards by the Mönchsbach and Blankenburger Bach . The Köttelbach now flows through the Fixheide . A little later, it is strengthened by the Landsbergbach and crosses under Schlebuscher Strasse and the embankment of the Mülheim-Speldorf-Troisdorf freight train route . It flows past the small mountain lake , crosses under the A 1 motorway and joins the Dhünn in Alkenrath near the tracks of the Opladen-Cologne railway line .
