David Cass

David Cass (* 19th January 1937 in Honolulu ; † 15. April 2008 in Philadelphia ) was a US -American economists .

Life

Cass received his PhD from Stanford University in 1965 and was professor at Yale University and Carnegie Mellon University . Since 1974 he has taught at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Cass did research in the field of general equilibrium theory. His most important contributions examined, among other things, individual behavior under uncertainty and financial market equilibria . The Ramsey-Cass-Koopmans model is named after David Cass, among others (see growth theory ).

David Cass was a Fellow of the Econometric Society , a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Economic Association .

Cass was married and had two children. He lived in Philadelphia.
