David Kreps
David Marc Kreps (born October 18, 1950 in New York City ) is an American economist .
Live and act
Kreps obtained his Artium Baccalaureus in Mathematics from Dartmouth College in 1972 and his Master of Arts and Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Stanford School of Engineering at Stanford University . Since 1975 he has worked at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University: from 1975 to 1978 he was assistant professor, 1978 to 1980 associate professor and since 1980 he has been full professor of economics . Visiting professorships took him to Yale University (1982), Harvard University (1983–1984), Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1985), University of Paris-Dauphine (1986), Tel Aviv University (1989–1990), University of Oxford (1990) and to Luigi Bocconi University of Economics (1992). In 1983 he became a research fellow of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation ( Sloan Research Fellow ).
Kreps mainly works in the areas of decision making , game theory and price theory . In particular, he deals with dynamic decision-making, financial markets , limited rationality and human resources .
Due to the number of his citations, Clarivate Analytics has been one of the favorites for an Alfred Nobel Memorial Prize for Economics ( Clarivate Citation Laureates ) since 2018 .
Kreps has three children and his hobbies are cooking and training in youth sports.
