The Consorzio ICoN is based in the Lungarno Pacinotti in Pisa.
The administrative headquarters are in the Piazza dei Facchini , near the Palazzo Blu in Pisa.

The Consorzio ICoN is an inter-university consortium for Italian cultural studies and philology based in Pisa and was founded in 1999. It consists of 21 Italian universities and is managed by the University of Pisa . In collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research (Ministero dell'Università e della Ricerca) , the consortium is dedicated to teaching Italian linguistics , literature and cultural studies. The president is Alberto Casadei.

ICoN consists of the following universities:

Bachelor degree

The University of Pisa , with the involvement of the universities of the consortium, is organizing a joint, inter-university bachelor's degree in Italian philology and culture (Corso di laurea triennale in Lingua e cultura italiana per stranieri ) for foreigners and Italian expatriates . The e-learning- based bachelor's degree is thematically assigned to the philological class L-10 (Classe di Lauree in Lettere) and offers the four specializations

The exams are held in the student's country of residence (at partner universities or Italian embassies ) or at the consortium's headquarters in Pisa . The academic degree is awarded by the coordinating university, the University of Pisa . The completion of the three-year course requires 180 ECTS points and entitles you to start a thematically related master’s course .

Master's degree

ICoN offers three non-consecutive master’s programs (60 ECTS ) in the field of language and cultural studies, which are part-time:

Language courses

In addition to academic programs, the consortium also offers specialized Italian language courses. A special learning program has been developed for English-speaking language students in collaboration with the University of California, Los Angeles (Department of Italian). The courses have been awarded the European Language Label by the European Commission .
