Andrea Bajani

Andrea Bajani (born August 16, 1975 in Rome , Italy ) is an Italian writer and journalist .

Life

In his early youth, Bajani moved with his parents to Cuneo in Piedmont and later to Turin, where he lived until 2013 with minor interruptions due to scholarship and research stays abroad. In 2013 he went to Berlin. After his first two novels, he had his first major success in 2005 with Cordiali saluti ( Eng . With best regards ). After that, he concentrated on writing for theater and radio. Since then he has worked as a journalist for daily newspapers such as La Stampa , L'Unità and Il Sole 24 Ore .

In 2006 a report about the Italian precariat followed . Bajani used an old battle cry of the Italian workforce Mi Spezzo ma non m'impiego (I break, but I do not bow!) As the title. The novel Se consideri le colpe ( Eng . Lorenzo's journey ) from 2007 received several awards in Italy. After Domani niente scuola (tomorrow is no school) followed in 2010 Ogni promessa (Eng. Love and other promises ), which was also awarded in 2011.

In 2013 his book Mi riconosci ( Eng . Do you know me ) was published, in which he looks back in 22 episodes on his long friendship with the writer Antonio Tabucchi and deals with his dying and death in general.
