Dietmar Pflegerl

Dietmar Pflegerl (born September 6, 1943 in Klagenfurt ; † May 17, 2007 ibid) was an Austrian theater director and director of the Klagenfurt City Theater .

Life

Pflegerl passed the matriculation examination at the Academic Gymnasium in Graz . He completed his training at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz and in Vienna, and made his debut in Basel in 1970 . From 1980 he was a freelance director in Vienna , Hamburg and Berlin .

He worked with Karl Merkatz , Sabine Sinjen , Boy Gobert , Michael Schottenberg , Gertrud Drassl , Peter Turrini and Erich Schleyer , among others .

From 1992 to May 2007 he was the artistic director of the Klagenfurt City Theater. He died of cancer during his tenure, which ran until autumn 2007.

  • 1990: Nomination for the Theatertreffen Berlin with one long day's journey into the night
  • 2006: Nestroy Theater Prize Special prize for his directorship at the Klagenfurt City Theater
