Tod am Weiher is the first episode of the crime film series Kommissarin Heller of the ZDF . The role of the investigator is played by Lisa Wagner . The premiere was at the Munich Film Festival in 2013, the first broadcast on ZDF followed on April 12, 2014.

action

Detective Inspector Winnie Heller has been transferred from Cologne to Wiesbaden because she can better take care of her sick sister there, who is in a coma in a Wiesbaden clinic after a car accident caused by her father. At first she doesn't get along well with her new colleague Hendrik Verhoeven; The young commissioner is too brash and stubborn for him. Verhoeven would like to close the current case immediately, because it initially seems very clear: A young woman is dead in her bedroom and her husband Jasper Fennrich confesses to the fact. It is strange that he has apparently shielded his wife from the outside world for fifteen years and the corpse shows numerous broken bones from childhood. However, Heller is adamant about her investigation because she wants to understand what is behind this case.

In parallel to the case of the dead young woman, the police are investigating a second case, which involves a little girl who has disappeared without a trace in front of her mother. Based on some evidence, Heller suspects a connection between the two cases. The child reappears after a few days, disturbed, but immediately afterwards a second girl is missing under similar circumstances. In the end, it turns out that both girls were kidnapped by a pedophile student. Heller rescues the second girl and is in danger herself when she is briefly taken hostage by the perpetrator before he can be overpowered by other police forces.

Ultimately, it turns out that Jasper Fennrich actually killed his wife because he believed she had something to do with the disappearance of the girls. His wife was severely physically abused by her own mother as a child. The mother suffered from Munchausen proxy syndrome and inflicted severe injuries on her children, only to be able to subsequently request medical treatment and take excessive care.

background

Winnie Heller investigates unconventionally. As a personality, she appears stubborn and determined, but also vulnerable. Hendrik Verhoeven is the serious part of the investigative duo. He doesn't seem very innovative, especially at the beginning, and would like to put the case aside quickly. He is suspicious of a partner who speaks to her fish.

The film was produced in 2012/2013 by Ziegler Film GmbH & Co. KG (Berlin + Cologne). It was premiered on July 1, 2013 at the Munich Film Festival in the New German Television series .

criticism

TV critic Rainer Tittelbach thinks that the new commissioner at the Wiesbaden Criminal Police Office is not only brighter than her somewhat more brazen colleague, but is also called: Winnie Heller . The prelude, "Death at the pond", could be seen, so Tittelbach. The film is exciting and cleverly constructed, but overall a lot more can be expected in the future .

Kino.de particularly emphasizes the emotional and psychological tension. The director succeeds in creating a thriller atmosphere with inclusion-like stylistic devices and optical alienations .

Awards

Lisa Wagner received the Hessian TV Prize 2013 for her role in Tod am Weiher .
