Katharina Rupp
Katharina Rupp (born February 10, 1959 in Bern ) is a Swiss theater director and acting director at the Biel Solothurn Theater .
Life
Rupp studied acting at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen from 1981 and then from 1985 was engaged as an actress at various stages in German-speaking countries for almost twelve years, first between 1985 and 1988 at the Schauspiel Frankfurt , then at the Städtische Bühnen Nürnberg (1988–1990) as well as at the Vienna Theater in der Josefstadt (1990–1993). She has also made guest appearances in Frankfurt and at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel ; In 1993 she moved to the Theater Basel ensemble .
The first directorial work followed in 1997 at the Pfalztheater in Kaiserslautern ( art by Yasmina Reza ) and at the Wuppertaler Schauspielhaus ( secretaries by Franz Wittenbrink ). Later productions took her to the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe , the Nationaltheater Weimar , the Landestheater Salzburg and the Saarländische Staatstheater Saarbrücken . She has also directed several documentaries .
In the 2007/08 season, Rupp became artistic director of the theater at the Biel Solothurn Theater under the new directorate of Beat Wyrsch .
