Rotraut de Neve (* before 1985 in Germany ) is a German actress, theater director and dance theater interpreter.

Artistic biography

The actress and director Rotraut de Neve completed her acting training with Marlise Ludwig and had her first stage appearance at the Renaissance Theater in Berlin. Four semesters of studying German, philosophy and history in Frankfurt preceded her training - the basis for her later own pieces with a socio-critical and historical background. She received further artistic stamping through seminars with Peter Brook in Paris and lessons at the Actor's Studio in New York as well as through acrobatics and dance.

From 1985 to 1989 she led the Bremen dance theater together with Heidrun Vielhauer with an 18-person troupe of dancers and actors and set new standards in dance theater in the connection of dance and language.

Engagements

After engagements at various stages, including Stadttheater Luzern, Stadttheater Münster, Theater der Stadt Bremen, Cologne, Frankfurt and the Schillertheater Berlin, she was one of the protagonists at the Hamburger Schauspielhaus under the direction of Niels Peter Rudolph. Her artistic career led to collaborations with directors Augusto Fernandes, Christof Nel, Niels Peter Rudolph, Roberto Ciulli , Hans Günther Heyme, Peter Palitzsch and many others

Neve has directed numerous theaters and many plays, some of which she edited herself. These are:

Own projects: connection dance drama

In 1982 she brought the dancer and choreographer Heidrun Vielhauer , at that time on the management committee of the Tanzfabrik Berlin , as a guest to the Hamburger Schauspielhaus for a first inter-theater production. “The last cry”, this first joint dance - drama piece, which was created in collaboration with Imogen Kogge and which shed light on the situation of women between departure and convention, myth and everyday life, attracted national attention. The second production with the title “Zwei Weiber” also premiered at the Hamburger Schauspielhaus. This time language and dance are juxtaposed as mutually challenging and challenging arts. This combination of dance and acting opened up new perspectives in theater towards performance. With the piece “Zwei Weiber” they went on a longer tour of Latin America, invited by the Goethe Institute. Further tours followed through Germany, Europe and South America.

The productions “Gezeiten / Daisy steps over the bank” and “Rituale” were recorded by Radio Bremen .

Seminars

Based on the experience of her seminars at home and abroad, which she led together with Heidrun Vielhauer, Rotraut de Neve and Heidrun Vielhauer developed a teaching program that combines techniques from dance and acting as well as dance theater and performance art. They conveyed this special artistic orientation to people from different cultures in their seminars at home and abroad, including in Tunis, Atlanta, Havana, Ecuador, Argentina, Prishtina / Kosovo.

Since 2002 she has been leading the innovative training project YOP Year of Performance , an additional qualification in dance drama performance, in a team with Heidrun Vielhauer , sponsored by: Norddeutsches Tanztheater eV This training with a certificate to become a Community Performance Teacher is a model European pilot project.
