Badly Drawn Boy
Badly Drawn Boy (* 2. October 1969 in Manchester , England as Damon Michael Gough ) is an English musician and songwriter , a folk / pop plays mixture.
His stage name comes from a character in the animated series Jamie and His Magic Ball . He had seen this series on television in 1995 at a party in Trafford , Manchester .
biography
Together with Andy Votel, Gough founded the record label Twisted Nerve Records. In 1997 and 1998 he released three EPs in small numbers before switching to XL Recordings . There he released further EPs and singles, which were followed in 2000 by the debut album The Hour of Bewilderbeast .
After a short break, he wrote the score for the Nick Hornby film About a Boy or: The Day of the Dead Duck , from which three singles grew.
