Jörg Huke

Jörg Huke (* 1962 in Kleinmachnow ) is a German modern jazz trombonist and theater composer.

Live and act

Huke received trumpet lessons from the age of eight ; he switched to the trumpet at the age of sixteen . From 1979 to 1983 he studied classical trombone at the "Hanns Eisler" Academy of Music in Berlin . Since 1981 he has dealt intensively with modern jazz and new music . He worked with Hannes Zerbe in literary music programs, such as MERZ-Jazz (with Charlie Eitner ), and later also with his brass band ( Rondo alla Fried , 1992). In 1987 he was one of the founders of the Fun Horns quartet with Volker Schlott and Thomas Klemm , which still exists today and has toured internationally several times. 1988 brought him Günter Sommer in the Jazz Orchestra of the GDR . With Bajazzo he recorded the production Fasten Seat Belts , which was also published by Amiga . In 1990 he was part of Cecil Taylor's workshop ensemble .

From 1991, he played with the New Jungle Orchestra of Pierre Dørge in which he also David Murray occasion of Jazzpar Prize concerted (published on eponymous album ). For many years he was also a member of the orchestra of Klaus König , but also of the East Berlin Guest Orchestra ; he worked with Gabriele Hasler's Personel Notebook and in a duo with the guitarist Wolfgang Schmiedt ( Inner Visuals ) or the cellist Peter Koch and with Billy Jenkins Voice of God Collective . In 2000 he was part of Carsten Dahl's Jazzpar Combo . He has also performed with John Tchicai , Urs Blöchlinger , Alexander von Schlippenbach , Joachim Ullrich , Samul Nori and with the Ars Baltica Jazz Ensemble and recorded with Andreas Willers ( The Ground Music ). Since 1996 he has worked as a producer and film and theater composer, for example for Theater 89 .

Prizes and awards

In 1993/94 Huke received a scholarship from the Berlin Senate for "DAS HUKEPACK" with Wolfgang Mitterer , Peter Koch, Claudio Puntin and Bob Rutman.
