Jazzpar Prize
Until 2005, the Danish Jazzpar Prize was the most important international jazz prize . With its concerts by the winners, the documentary CDs, the presentation of a bronze statue and the prize money of 200,000 Danish kroner, this music prize can be regarded as a kind of Nobel Prize in jazz. The award was given annually to an internationally recognized and active musician who deserves wider attention.

Due to the failure of the previous main sponsor (Skandinavisk Tobakskompagni), Jazzpar activities came to a standstill in April 2005.
