A jazz prize is an award for exceptional achievements in the field of jazz music or a sponsorship prize for the development of younger jazz musicians .

The Grammy Award has a section for jazz. The German Echo Prize also had a section for jazz until 2009, and an ECHO Jazz has been awarded since 2010 . Most popular in jazz are the Critics Polls and Readers Polls from Down Beat magazine , which are also broken down by instrument.
