Bingen swings

Bingen swingt is a jazz festival that has been held annually in Bingen by the city of Bingen since 1996 .

The festival takes place on three consecutive days at the end of June as an open-air event on eight different stages in the city center. More than 30 bands perform each. In addition to international and national ensembles such as the Glen Miller Orchestra, Manteca or the groups of Butch Miles , Bill Ramsey , Benny Golson , Emil Mangelsdorff , Axel Zwingenberger , China Moses and Roger Cicero , regional bands can also be heard. In 2015 four big bands will be presented. The city's official program is supplemented by the state competition Jugend jazzt .

Between 5000 and 8000 tickets for one or more days are sold annually for the festival, so that the number of visitors is over 10,000.
