Richard Sigel

Richard Sigel (born September 2, 1977 in Münsingen ) is a German administrative lawyer , local politician ( independent ) and district administrator of the Rems-Murr district .

education and profession

Sigel grew up in Römerstein . After graduating from high school in Bad Urach , he studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg as well as at the Universities of Cambridge and Krakow . Following his first state examination in law, he obtained a master's degree ( LL.M. ) in International and Comparative Law at Uppsala University . With a thesis on the subject of manufacturer warranties in supplementary performance , he received his doctorate in 2006 in Heidelberg as a doctor of law . He completed his legal clerkship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg .

After passing the second state examination in law, he worked at Landesbank Baden-Württemberg from 2007 to 2010 , most recently as deputy head of the capital market law unit and in-house lawyer .

Political career

From 2010 to 2013 he was the department head for traffic, law, order and consumer protection in the Rems-Murr district . On May 13, 2013 he was elected by the district council as head of the district of Böblingen and was then responsible for the areas of control and service.

In the district council election in the Rems-Murr district on May 11, 2015, he was elected district administrator in the second ballot with 51 of 83 valid votes cast.

Other offices

In his function as district administrator, Sigel is also chairman of the administrative board of Kreissparkasse Waiblingen and the waste management company Rems-Murr AöR as well as chairman of the supervisory board of Rems-Murr-Kliniken , Kreisbaugesellschaft Waiblingen mbH, Rems-Murr-Kreis-Immobilien-Management GmbH and Rems- Murr-Gesundheits GmbH & Co.KG.

Private

Richard Sigel is married and has two children. His father Hans was the mayor of Römerstein from 1975 to 1999 .
