Prix ​​Django Reinhardt

The French Prix ​​Django Reinhardt (named after Django Reinhardt ) has been awarded by the “ Académie du Jazz ” in Paris for the French jazz musician of the year since 1955 . It is one of the most prestigious French jazz awards .

The jurors include recognized jazz musicians, jazz producers and journalists.

In 2006 the double CD "50 ans Prix Django Reinhardt" (with booklet) was released for the 50th anniversary. So far, Airelle Besson , Sophia Domancich , Cécile McLorin Salvant and Géraldine Laurent are the only women to have received the award.
