Zool Fleischer (* 1958 ) is a French jazz pianist and composer.

Fleischer first appeared as a soloist in 1976. He worked u. a. with Tony Scott , Steve Grossman , Barney Wilen , Boulou Ferré , Didier Levallet and his "String Swing System", Wallace Roney (in whose quartet he played) and Joe Lovano (when he was in New York in 1996). Since the 1980s he has led his own groups (trios, quartets) a. a. with Minino Garay , the flautist Malik Mezzadri , Tony Rabeson , the bassist Marc Bertaux , Charles Schneider (saxophone). Bertaux, with whom he also appears as a duo, and Rabeson are his long-term trio partners, with the saxophonist Alain Debiossat and the guitarist Lionel Benhamou also expanded to form a quintet. He also plays with a quintet made up of Denis Leloup , Stéphane Huchard , Bertaux and the saxophonist Jullien Lourau .

He published u. a. the albums "Picnic tragic" 1986, "Trios" 1989 and "Zoolitude" 1999. 2002 recorded the album "ZOOLOOP" with trombonist Denis Leloup ( Cristal Records , with Bertaux, Mezzadri, David Venitucci on accordion, Stéphane Hurchard). It received the Charles Cros Academy Award .

In 1986 he received the Prix ​​Django Reinhardt .
