Minino Garay (born September 2, 1968 in Córdoba , Argentina ) is an Argentine jazz drummer and percussionist who mainly works in France.

Garay moved to Paris in 1989 - after a year in Buenos Aires . Here he played with Julien Lourau 's "Groove Gang", Laurent de Wilde , Louis Winsberg , André Ceccarelli and accompanied Dee Dee Bridgewater . In 2001 he recorded his first album “Minino Garay y los tambores del sur” (World) under his own name with his “Tambours du Sud”, with the Uruguayan singer and guitarist Pájaro Canzani , the Danish violinist Line Kruse , the accordion player Daniel Mille and the Cuban percussionist Anga Diaz. Among other things, he raps and sings texts from his mother, which she dictated to him over the phone from Córdoba. He has also recorded with the Magic Malik Orchestra ( 69 • 96 ), with Majid Bekkas ( Makemba , 2010), with Baptiste Trotignon ( Chimichurri , 2016) and with Lionel Suarez ( Quarteto Gardel , 2018).

In 2004 he received the Django d'Or (France) in the world music category.
