Malik Mezzadri , called Magic Malik (born January 1969 in Abidjan , Ivory Coast ) is a French jazz flutist.

Life

Mezzadri grew up in Guadeloupe , where he received classical flute lessons at the age of 13. In 1986 he studied at the Conservatory of Marseille , where he received a first prize, and then at the CIM in Paris . He joined the group "Human Spirit" with which he played for 10 years. In 1998 he joined the Groove Gang by Julien Lourau when, with whom he 1999 world tour went (Africa, Central America and the Caribbean, Northern Europe). He can also be heard on the albums "City Boom Boom" from 1998 and "Gambit" (2000) by the Groove Gang . In 1997 he published "HW I Project". In 2001 he recorded his first album under his own name "69..96" ( Label Bleu ), followed in 2003 by the double album "00-237-XP 1" and "13 XP's Songs" in 2004 (on which he interprets chansons ), all with his Magic Malik Orchestra , which includes bassist Sarah Murcia , Or Solomon on keyboards, drummer Maxime Zampieri and saxophonist Denis Guivarch.

Mezzadri also played with guitarist Nelson Veras , with St Germain , saxophonist Pierrick Pedron , Aka Moon , DJ Gilb-R, Harmen Fraanje and Steve Coleman . Stéphane Galland brought him into his band Lobi in 2012 .
