Sarah Murcia (2008)

Sarah Murcia (* 1976 ) is a French double bass player who has made a name for herself in jazz and as a composer of film scores .

Live and act

Murcia initially received classical music training as a pianist at the Boulogne Conservatory before switching to the cello and then the bass; she was taught on the double bass by Jean-François Jenny-Clark . She initially accompanied artists such as Charlélie Couture , Jeanne Balibar and Fania . Since 2000 she has been part of the Magic Malik Orchestra . In 2001 she formed her own band Caroline with Franck Vaillant, Gilles Coronado and Olivier Py . As musical director, she was responsible for an Arte production with the hits of the 1970s and was on tour with singer Kamilya Jubran . She was also a founding member of Sébastien and Nicolas Martel's group Las Ondas Marteles , with whom she recorded two albums, and recorded with Steve Coleman ( Weaving Symbolics , 2006), Tryo and Georges Moustaki . In addition, she composed the music for several feature films.
