Marc Bertaux
Marc Bertaux (born January 1, 1949 in Paris ) is a French jazz musician (double bass, bass guitar).
Live and act
Bertaux is self-taught as a bass player . He has accompanied singers like Eddy Mitchell since he was 17 years old. In 1972 he performed with Bernard Lubat at the Montreux Jazz Festival , and then worked in the bands of Eddy Louiss , Francis Lockwood and André Ceccarelli . From the 1980s he worked a lot in the trio and in other groups with the pianist Zool Fleischer (including trio with Tony Rabeson ). He also played in groups of the pianists Jean-Pierre Como , Daniel Goyone and Olivier Hutman (1983/4, in a trio with Rabeson) and the drummer André Ceccarelli , took part with Trilok Gurtu ("Crazy Saints" 1993 with Joe Zawinul and Pat Metheny ) , Umberto Pagnini and Michel Perez . He also accompanied the Brazilian singer Tania Maria and Pierre Vassiliu and (until his death in 2013) Georges Moustaki .
In 1984 he received the Prix Django Reinhardt .
