Daniel Goyone (* 1953 in Grasse ) is a French jazz and fusion musician ( piano , composition ).

Live and act

Goyone received piano lessons from the age of seven; at the age of 14 he began playing with the dance orchestra. He decided very early on to pursue a career as a jazz pianist and established himself in Paris in 1975, where he worked with André Ceccarelli , Jean-Pierre Alarcen, Bunny Brunel, and later with François Mozer, but also accompanied Georges Moustaki . Soon he broadened his perspective and recorded music from different cultures. For a long time he was employed in the band of Trilok Gurtu , with whom he recorded the albums Usfret , Living Magic , Crazy Saints , Believe . He has also accompanied David Linx , Jean-Luc Barbier and Mônica Passos and can be heard on albums by Daniel Mille , François Du Bois , Michel Perez and Nicole Rieu .

Since the early 1980s his work has focused on his activity as a composer. Although based in part on the language of jazz, he attempted extensions that go beyond the usual practice. Since 1983 he has made his own albums with these works. In 1987 Antoine Hervé had one of his compositions interpreted by the Orchester National de Jazz . He also worked with Claude Nougaro , for whom he wrote numerous songs, and with Pierre Charial . Goyone authored several books, including a Practical Guide to Improvisation, one of the first books on the subject to be published in French.
