Laurent Dehors (born April 2, 1964 in Dreux ) is a French jazz musician ( clarinet , saxophone , bagpipes , composition ).

Life

Dehors, who plays clarinet since 1972, studied at the Conservatory of Rouen musicology and clarinet. Since 1988 he has been a member of the Orchester National de Jazz . In 1992 he formed a trio with David Chevallier and Louis Moutin (later Eric Thielemans ). Since 1996 he has been leading the big band Tous Dehors , which has unusual timbres. In addition to saxophones and various clarinets up to the double bass clarinet, recorders, “a spinet , a tuba, a Catalan oboe, a diatonic accordion, a seven-string guitar, a banjo and a glockenspiel sound . Two drummers give the pulse. ”Since 1993 he has also played in the formation Trio Grande with Michel Massot and Michel Debrulle, which has since expanded into a quartet .

He also worked with musicians such as Andy Emler , Antoine Hervé , François Raulin , Louis Sclavis , Michel Portal ( Musique de Cinémas ), Daniel Goyone , Jean-Marie Machado , Didier Levallet , Stéphan Oliva , Yves Robert and Bernard Lubat in their projects.
