Francis Lassus (born May 29, 1961 in Pau ) is a French jazz musician ( drums , composition ).

Live and act

Lassus began playing drums at a young age and was soon performing in various orchestras and bands in south-west France. In 1983 Bernard Lubat brought him to his company . In the 1990s he was part of various projects by Ray Lema and the sextet of Louis Sclavis ( Ellington on the Air , Les violences de Rameau ), for which he also composed. Then he worked with artists such as Claude Nougaro , Jean-Michel Pilc , Sylvain Luc , Mina Garay, Antonello Salis , Étienne M'Bappé , Richard Galliano , Maurice Vander , André Minvielle or Furio Di Castri . He has also emerged as the author and initiator of the percussion orchestra Les Elegantes Machines . He has also worked with the ballet by Roland Petit and Zizi Jeanmaire . He can also be heard on recordings by Bernard Lubat , Louis Winsberg , Ray Lema / Joachim Kühn , Guillemette Laurens , Mokhtar Samba and Huong Thanh / Nguyên Lê .
