Olivier Hutman
Olivier Hutman (born November 12, 1954 in Boulogne-Billancourt ) is a French jazz pianist and composer.
Live and act
Hutman had classical piano lessons from 1958 to 1968 and then studied ethnomusicology (dissertation Musiques urbaines au Ghana , 1978). He came to jazz music after listening to an album by Oscar Peterson . In 1975 he founded the group Moravagine with Denis Barbier and Mino Cinelu ; he was also a member of the jazz rock orchestra Chute Libre until 1977 . From 1980 to 1982 he was a member of Christian Escoudé's quartet . From 1983 to 1989 he worked in a trio with Marc Berteaux and Tony Rabeson , at the same time he was a member of Éric Le Lann's quartet from 1984 to 1988 and performed regularly with Luigi Trussardi and Philippe Combelle . In 1991 and 1992 he took part in the tours of the Barney Wilen Quartet.
Hutman u. a. with Pepper Adams , Tony Scott , Art Farmer , Harry Sweets Edison , James Moody , Toots Thielemans , Philip Catherine , Didier Lockwood , Eddy Louiss , Joe Lee Wilson , Mundell Lowe , Dee Dee Bridgewater , Ted Nash , Jimmy Gourley , Junior Cook , Tom Harrell , Frank Wess and Clifford Jordan . He has also performed as a piano accompanist for Henri Salvador , Yves Montand , Charles Aznavour and Camille Bertault .
Hutman has been active as a film composer since 1985. At the Festival de Biarritz he was awarded twice for the best film music.
