Elisabeth Caumont

Élisabeth Caumont (born November 25, 1957 in Cambrai ) is a French jazz musician (vocals, songwriting) and actress.

Act

Caumont attended the Perpignan Conservatory before moving to Paris in 1975 to take acting lessons. In the city's jazz clubs she met musicians such as Benoît de Mesmay , Christophe Garreau and Richard Portier (soon to be replaced by Stéphane Huchard ), with whom she formed her first band. As a lyricist, she worked at the interface between jazz and French chanson . In 1985 she appeared as a soloist with her band at Jazz in Marciac , the Festival de Paris and the Grand Parade de Nice , and in 1991 at the Jazz Jamboree in Warsaw. Over the next few years she also worked with Michel Legrand , Jimmy Rowles , Michel Petrucciani , Jacques Higelin and Sixun .

In 2007 she presented the Django'd Or award ceremony together with Manu Dibango . In 2010 she could be heard in a trio with Philippe Milanta and Luca Bonvini with an Ellington program at the Montreux Jazz Festival .
