Benoit de Mesmay

Benoît de Mesmay (born October 10, 1961 in Algeria ) is a French jazz musician ( piano , composition ).

Mesmay first studied law and then trained as a music teacher. He first worked as musical director of Élisabeth Caumont and entered next in the Big Band Lumiere by Laurent Cugny (with Gil Evans on). Then he accompanied Yves Montand . Cugny brought him in the 1990s as a member of the Orchester National de Jazz , where he also recorded with Lucky Peterson . He also worked with John Scofield . He is currently the musical director of Anne Ducros ' band . He can also be heard on albums by Alma Rosa and Antoine Illouz. In the field of jazz he was involved in 27 recording sessions between 1985 and 2013.
