Baptiste Herbin

Baptiste Herbin (* 17th August 1985 in Chartres ) is a French jazz - saxophonist .

Life

Herbin grew up in the Eure-et-Loir department . He took classical piano lessons from the age of six. He started playing the saxophone at the age of eleven. From 2005 he studied in Paris at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique in the class of Riccardo Del Fra . Since then he has played with various musicians on the Parisian jazz scene and in 2007 recorded the album Septième Couleur with vibraphonist Thieblemont Bruno .

In 2012 he played his first album, Brother Stoon , as a leader; He was accompanied by Jean Toussaint (saxophone), Pierre de Bethmann ( piano ), Sylvain Romano ( bass ) and André Ceccarelli ( drums and percussion ). His album Dreams and Connections (2018) followed, as did his participation in the recording of recordings by Aldo Romano , Keith Brown and Essiet Okon Essiet . In 2019 he was awarded the Prix ​​Django Reinhardt .
