Hessian Jazz Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hessian Jazz Prize has been awarded annually since 1991 by the state of Hesse to promote and develop jazz music and jazz musicians in Hesse. It is endowed with prize money of 10,000 euros.

The main passages in the foundation's statutes read: “ The Hessian Jazz Prize is intended to honor musicians, ensembles or personalities connected to jazz for their musical achievements or for special services to the development of the Hessian jazz scene. An independent jury will decide on the award. Proposals are to be sent to the Hessian Ministry for Science and Art, which will pass them on to the jury members. "

Awarding and submission

As a rule, the award ceremony takes place at the " Hessian Jazzpodium ", which is organized by a different jazz association in Hesse every year. Several dozen artists perform at the award-winning concert every year.
